just past the golf course, about two miles out of Lochcarron on the road to Inverness. |

Attadale
Gardens

About
6 miles from Lochcarron on the other side of the Loch
on the A890 to Kyle of Lochalsh. |

Located in the grounds around
Attadale House are various types of garden. |
 |
Traditional kitchen
garden, water garden and Japanese garden plus a geodesic dome
housing the fern collection. |
 |
The gardens are open 10 am to 5:30 pm
April - October, closed Sundays. |

Applecross
 |
18 miles west of
Lochcarron, via the steep and winding Bealach nam Bà (Pass of the Cattle). |

This is one of the highest roads
in Britain at 2,055 ft. |

There is a
view point at the top with spectacular views of the
islands of Raasay and Skye. |
 |
Make
it a day trip and return to Lochcarron via the costal road round to Shieldaig and
then back via the A896. |

Eilean
Donan Castle

Probably the most photographed castle in
Scotland |
 |
18 miles
south of Lochcarron at Dornie on the A87 about 30 minutes by car. |

Isle of Skye
 |
Easily reached via the Skye Bridge (free of
charge) from Kyle of Lochalsh. |

The bridge is around 23 miles from
Lochcarron, again about 30 minutes by car. |

Walking
and Climbing
 |
The
Lochcarron area is ideal for walkers and there are a number of walks locally
of varying difficulty and distance (from 2 to 18.5 km). |

There
are also numerous peaks nearby in excess of 3000 ft and many more that are over
2000 ft suitable for experienced walkers/climbers with appropriate
clothing,
equipment and maps. |

Rock
climbers will be able to access the hills of Torridon (about 45 minutes by
car) |

The Cullins on Skye or the Five Sisters of Kintail are about
an hour and
15 minutes away by car. |

Golfing
 |
Lochcarron has it own challenging 9 hole golf course where visitors are
welcome without booking. |

Daily green fees are payable and club hire is
available. |

Fishing
 |
There is a wide range of loch, river, and sea
fishing available in the area. You will find a copy of the local Lochcarron
Fishing guide in the guest information folder in the bedroom. |

and Canoe Hire
 | The area around Lochcarron is ideal for
cyclists and if you haven't brought your own bike they can be hired from Lochcarron Garage. |
 | They also hire canoes so for a different
perspective on Lochcarron - why not paddle around the Loch. |
